greenCAFÉ
A moment to unwind in the city.
Tucked into a quiet residential corner of Tokiwadai in Itabashi, greenCAFÉ serves savory buckwheat galettes, onion gratin soup, and French cafe-style drinks in a calm, welcoming setting.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Step past the greenery framing the entrance, and the bustle of everyday life quickly fades into the calm of greenCAFÉ. Located along a quiet street in Itabashi’s Tokiwadai neighborhood, this neighborhood spot offers an easygoing space to enjoy light meals and drinks shaped by French cafe culture.
When it comes to the food, the savory buckwheat galettes baked crisp and fragrant are an immediate draw. One satisfying lunch option combines savory prosciutto, fresh rocket, melted cheese, and a sunny-side-up egg with a runny yolk. Classic pairings with cooked loin ham and seasonal specialty galettes round out the board, giving you plenty of options to match your mood.
Beyond the galettes, the menu features thoughtfully prepared warm dishes, including a weekly changing quiche served with bread and salad, and comforting French onion soup simmered to lock in deep flavor. For something lighter, toasted options like a ham-and-cheese croque monsieur or a honey-kissed croque mademoiselle are equally tempting.
For dessert or afternoon tea, consider sweet buckwheat galettes finished with Guérande salted butter and honey, or pain perdu topped with ice cream. The beverage list covers brewed coffee and milky cafe crème, as well as classic French refreshments such as cassis lemonade soda and diabolo menthe.
Inside, table seating is joined by sofa arrangements that offer comfortable space for families, complete with picture books and toys on hand. Note that payment is cash only, so it is wise to have yen ready before your visit.
